Colour – White light turned into wonderful rainbows – it is spectacular, and if you really think about it. A complete universal alchemy. “Did you know that each color has its own unique frequency, and the wavelength of light reflected determines the color we see?. – Its weird to think about everything being actually white and by some lovely magic we see colour.

The chakra system and colour work in concert. This is a cool thing, because we can use it in our lives. Easy to impliment life hacks are my favorite. We can influence our emotions and balance our energetic centres just by being mindful about colour choices.

The best explanation I have come accross to date is from this clip from Nickelodeon`s The last Airbender cartoon. Such a great cartoon, and this chakra break down is on point.

I regularly rearrange my home and choose outfits to support the energy I am after. I consider colour and how it will support me. I like creating an environment in which my family and I can thrive.

Right now, finding my voice has become focus. I have been intentionally incorporating blue to support my throat chakra and to encourage clear communication and authentic self-expression. I also surround myself with greens to nurture my heart chakra and foster an environment of compassion and kindness.

Colour effects Our body has seven energy centers called chakras, each associated with specific emotions and organs. Each chakra emits a unique frequency reflected in color. This is why colour matters.

As color is all around us, especially in our wardrobe, we can use knowledge of chakras and colors daily. Simple actions are best. If we can be supported by putting on the right sweater, then it’s worth the extra seconds of thoughtfulness.

Here is how to boost chakra through colour.

Indigo- Third eye chakra

Your soul’s wisdom and your ability to see the true colours of things can be found with indigo. Basically its intuition. Your third eye chakra is between your brows and is responsible for your intuition, imagination, and for those that want to develop it, clairvoyance.

Most psychics, mediums and clairvoyants have a well-developed third eye. They are able to see beyond the physical world and into the metaphysical. We all possess that ability within ourselves, its something that needs to be worked on. slowly and with intention. To fast and we can become spiritually stressed.

To boost your third eye or, intuition, wear indigo as often as you can. You can wear jewellery featuring a healing stone, such as sodalite. An indigo top might be your best choice.

Red – root chakra

The root chakra is located at the base of the spine and serves as a connection to the Earth, our ancestors, and our instincts. It is symbolized by the color red, representing passion, strength, and courage. This chakra is associated with survival, protection, and self-awareness.

Having an over-developed root chakra can sometimes lead to hyperactivity, anger, and materialism. To balance this, try incorporating more green into your life.

On the other hand, an under-developed root chakra may result in feelings of fear, lethargy, and lack of motivation. In this case, bringing more red into your life can help ground you and remind you of your personal power.and stability.

Red is often associated with passion. The diety image of a women in a red dress is so powerful. Red has the power to revitalise and equips you with courage and fire.

Orange – sacral chakra

Did you know that the sacral chakra, which is located in your lower abdomen, is the source of your creativity, joy, and sexuality? It’s represented by the colour orange and is the center of pleasure from which our creativity and desires stem. When we lack orange in our lives, we may feel like something is holding us back from finding fulfillment.

If you find yourself becoming obsessed with things and overindulging, you might need some guidance and insight. Introducing some blue into your life could help.

For a quick mood booster, why not try wearing an orange shirt and maybe even some orange undergarments?

Yellow- Solar plexus chakra

The solar plexus chakra is our personal power and located below the chest. It’s pure sunshine sitting inside us and radiating out to the whole world. It’s also home to our self-confidence and self-esteem. Friendly and shining yellow, this chakra can help when we are feeling insecure and are unable to see our worth.

Arrogance or is a sign of an over-developed solar plexus chakra. To ground yourself, get some red into your life. An under-developed solar plexus means that you need self-love in your life and incorporating the sunshine of yellow can give you a little happiness boost.

Add yellow wherever it feels right. You deserve to radiate the sun!

Green- Heart chakra

Have you ever wondered where love lives in your soul? It’s in the heart chakra! represented by green. Located in the centre of your chest, next to your heart, its where your sense of compassion, kindness, and unconditional love are centered.

A blocked heart chakra simply means that you need to find love for yourself. Maintaining good boundaries and finding ways to put in time into self care. Think of how it feels to be in amoungst the green of the forest, thats the energy of green. Connect with your vulnerable.

If you have opened your heart chakra too much, you might be too emotionally available and begin to feel burnt out.

Put on a green dress or cosy hoodie to warm up your heart. This chakra is located in a great spot for necklaces, you can wear healing crystal pendants to help support your everloving heart. Malachite, jade, and aventurine are great for that.

Blue- Throat chakra

Speaking authentically and without apology is a throat chakra thing. You can imagine this energy center in a beautiful Blue. It symbolises clear communication and can help with creative writing.

When the throat chakra is underdeveloped, we can struggle to speak up, or find the words to share what we truly want to say. When it’s over-stimulated, we can lose our filter and say things we might regret later.

Show the world your authentic self by wearing blue. Blue is so easy to style and comes is all forms, scarves, coats, accessories. My favorite blue is simply blue jeans. No muss no fuss.

Violet- Crown chakra

The crown chakra is at the top of your head. The energetic centre that governs all of the rest, it connects the divine with our own human nature. It’s the bridge between us in our reality and the reality of oneness, or the universe. The crown chakra is connected with divinity, spirituality and idealism.

If your crown chakra is overstimulated, you might get a bit “stange” focus too much on the spiritual, ignoring the other important aspects of life that exsist in the physical world.

If your crown chakra is neglected, you may feel you are lacking purpose and motivation in life and can even lead to feelings of powerlessness.

Violet is the colour of enlightenment. Wearing or surrounding your life with violet can strengthen this energy. I love to keep African violets in my home for this very reason. I once painted our entire living room deep violet.. it was awesome.

So.. I hope this was a neat little beginner guide to using colour magic.

Get out there and be delightful!

Best, Fran.
