Taking care of your mind and emotions can be on purpose. What i mean is that we dont have to be reactionary to them, we can proactively work them out. Kind of like going to the gym but using your mind to lift those weights so you have a healthy emotional inner life. You can find an affirmation that resonates, listen to uplifting music, take a digital break, practice deep breathing, walk in nature, connect with others and just generally find ways to be kind to yourself.
In meditation, the phrase “I let go of what no longer serves me” often comes up.
I have always thought a better phrase for this would be “I acknowledge HOW this has served me”. We have lots of tools in our toolboxes to deal with the stresses and joys of the world, dont get stuck only using your emotional hammers.

Our emotions are natural and each serves in its own unique way. Each one has a balance, a light and a dark. For example, I can see that happiness has helped me love and has also occasionally kept me from seeing my path clearly, and anxiety has caused unnecessary worry and also helped me make smart choices and set good boundaries. These emotional experiences serve to inform our choices and our enjoyment of this life. I believe that our “gut instinct” is powerful and helps us remember that all things need balance. In order to navigate this intricut inner world of ours, It is good to examine what each one brings to the table. In this wat we can be mindful to react to our emotions with care. We can choose to act in ways that serve us best, and use the strengths and weaknesses of our emotions to do it well.
I have always been a fan of putting on affirmations in the background, especially when I need a boost. I love that we can influence ourselves on purpose. We can help that inner monologue have good things to say, and I think that that is pretty rad. In the immortal words of the Snoop dogg “My feelings matter”
Another practice I like is water. I mean, if you have access to a stream in a wildflower meadow where you can swim under the moon, do that. In Lieu of the stream, I like to pour myself a bath. I find water washes the spirit like no other element. I have taken to putting little spells into my bath, playing healing sounds, and adding aromatherapy. I light my candles and I tell the water that I am releasing all that needs to leave and I ask it to take this away into the drain. Its one way that I can care for my emotions, and enjoy a good bath. Find this list of ritual baths to enjoy if you would like to try.
Have the best day every one.
Best
